I recently purchased a 2000 Pontiac grand am . I'm
trying to do an emisssions test but was told it was
not ready because the computer was" reset ". They
told me to keep driving the cAr. I been driving but
still nothing . What should I do

They want you to put miles on the car to make sure the alarm that was reset doesn't come back on ... give it a week and a hundred miles and then they will check again

You have to run what is called a drive cycle. The monitors have to be complete so it verifies if an issue is still present even though someone turned the light off. Basically the computer is not done doing its checks.
