audi b6 switches off

hi ive got a audi a4 2.0L b6 2003 model ...... my problem is when my tank
comes to a quarter of a tank then my car switches off, but if the tank is above
half then it doesnt switch off...pls help

Maybe your gauge is not calibrated accurately and you are running out of fuel. Test this by filling the tank and recording the gauge reading. Then drive the car until the gauge reads half full. Then continue until your gauge reads 1/4 full and then fill the tank a second time. Note how many gallons were used. Is this number consistent with the gauge reading or have you used more than 3/4 of the full tank? If not, either the gauge or the sender unit is wrong and needs to be repaired.
