Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2002 grand prix starts and runs most of time, every now and then you turn key, lights come on, fuel
pump starts but wont fire, i pull key out, turn steering wheel, reinsert key and turn, sometimes it fires,
sometimes have to try for 5 or 10 mins then fires, doesnt seem to happen as much or at all when key is
left in ignition. could this be a problem with chip in key

It could be the chip. It could be worn/dirty contacts in the ignition switch. This forum looks like it's active - look around there to see if anyone had a similar problem. http://www.grandprixforums.net/
