Why car stalls and upper radiator hose collapsed

I have a 2005 Grand Prix that starts but then stalls when I start to drive.  Looked under hood and upper radiator hose is collapsed. What could possible causes be?

A hose will collapse from vacuum in the cooling system when the engine cools, especially when coolant is low. Try a new radiator cap, it's supposed to draw coolant back in to radiator when engine cools and pressures fall. Some cars have no cap on radiator, only on overflow tank. Either way, a new one MAY solve this. The hose anyway. Do you have the Check Engine light on? The hose will not cause stalling.
