99 plymouth neon band adjustment

I just bought this 99 ply neon I want to change the tranny
filter and fluid. I also want to adjust the bands but don't
know the last time they was or if they ever have been

next to no information given! ok 99, ok what kind of tran? Adjust the bands of what? Transmission gear bands, belts. Do you know the parts of the car you just bought????

This is a throwback to the 60s and earlier. Modern vehicles don't need bands adjusted in the automatic transmission. As for changing the transmission fluid and filter, I wouldn't. Many times by doing that you wind up with a transmission that doesn't shift correctly or even move at all afterwards. My policy here is if it works, don't fix it! Hope that helps! Jim
