When ideling batt light comes on sometimes, got new
alternator 2 months ago could it be battery amperage.

A bad battery and take out an alternator and a bad alternator can take out a battery. Sometimes you can get a bad alternator. You should always get dealer parts. But sometimes they can be bad too. I got one for my Impala they would over charge on a hot start and set a high voltage code in my EBCM.
