Question type: Car Customization

Can I take off my Catalyic Converters without causing sensor problems or the car throw some codes? I want to grab a few extra horsepower out of my Z. The car came with a Flowmaster exhust system but only from the Converters back. I would like to just go with a stright pipes by passing the converts. Will I beable to do this?

Your car wont care about the Cats --If you have a state inspection, they wont like it. The crazy thing is that if your cats are working -- they dont affect performance. If they get clogged up from extra fuel - thats when your cat problems start -- a Higher perf cat may be an option if you have to stay green

I live in maryland & If you tag your car Historic in this state they don't require an Inspection. I just wanted to know if it's worth doing at all? Matbe a little HP gain & to make it sound better....
