Is it the alternator?

I have a '90 v6 probe.
The battery started to die and every morning I would have to charge it. I was
able to drive the car all day without the battery dying or needing a jump. After
about a week or so of charging the battery, I replaced the battery with a new
one. I drove it a couple times that day with no problems. The car sat for about
2-3 days without starting or driving and now the brand new battery is
drained/dead.
I do not have a stereo and there is nothing else that would be drawing
electricity. I have no idea where to start. Does the alternator need to be
replaced? Thank you for your time.

Usually only two things cause this: Bad Battery, or Bad alternator. It sounds more like your battery from your description, but most of the major auto parts stores can test the Battery and Alternator and tell you if one or both are bad. Yes, sometimes it is both.
