SatNav not accurate. Wanders all over the country. LS430 2003. Lexus tell me it is probably a problem with the arial. How do I fix this? Help

When I bought the car the satnav screen messaged it could not read the
disc. I
changed the computer and hey presto, got a reading and all the usual
screen data.
However most of the time it does not follow my journey. Last week I was in
the
Atlantic. I have tried numerous Calibration resets but no joy. Lexus tell me it
is
probably the arial not picking up the appropriate satellite signals all of the
time.
There are occasions when it behaves as normal after recalibrating and re-
marking
my 'Home' as destination but it does not last and cannot be trusted.
How can I check the arial function? Anybody out there who can help? Al.

I have exactly the same issue in my IS220 2011. Only started a week ago. It goes ok for a short time after recalibrating but then wanders off across the fields in another direction while I am driving down the main road! Don't know how to sort it though.

I switched the batteries in the keys, but it did not help. Any ideas??

I recently purchased a well maintained 1993 Lexus LS 400, but the battery was said to be a problem. I have only driven it a few times, but I notice when I apply the breaks the headlaps blink. Can this be a symptom of an electrical problem that would explain why the battery was always being drained for the prior owner? I am going to purchase a new high quality battery, but the prior owner told me to keep the + terminal disconnected so it would not go dead. Hmmm :( This does not sound like a practical way to address the problem. Any suggestions? Scott 2 Answers

My LS400 is not running like a V8 should. For the first few years i've had the car it ran great.
