check Engine Light came on while air conditioner was running

Car cut off check engine light came on in stop
and go traffic R (10-15miles an hour on A 100
degree weather day with air conditioner running
register at. 78 degree. I cut off the air
conditioning and car started right back up. Has
not happen since in three weeks. What could
be the problem while it happen?  What do I
need to Check ?
