2008 honda civic hybrid battery

My daughter is considering purchasing a 2008
Honda civic hybrid with 178,000 miles on it for
$2500.00. I would have her get the vehicle for sure
IF I can find out when the battery was replaced.
Because the new batteries can cost $2000+, we
need to find this out so we can decide what to do.  
We're not going to buy the car if we're going to have
to turn around and pay $2000.00+ to buy a new
battery. Is there any way, any website that with the
vin#, can one find out if the battery has been
replaced and when? I no about car fax but wasn't
sure if it would show if there was a battery
replacement and with having to pay for it without
being certain if car fax shows that info, i dontvwant
to do that. Is there any other way to find this out? I
would greatly appreciate the help. Thank you so
much:)
