Why did remote start not work?

Tried to start car when I arrived at the airport but remote start did not
work.Also locked keys in car on another occasion and could not remotely
unlock car

The doors have to be locked to have the remote start work correctly, maybe you unlocked your doors first? Also check to see if the software is to date.
