Transmission issues with my 97 eclipse

Asked by countrylivin Feb 13, 2011 at 11:36 AM about the 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We just bought the car. A teenage boy had it before and he didn't keep a check on his fluids. We have already serviced the transmission but it has not fixed the issue. The overdrive is slipping. It causes the car to get stuck in gear. Any advice or recommendations on how to fix the this without having to replace the trasnmission?

sounds like if the trans has already been serviced, you wont have to replace a whole trans, you can simply get a rebuild kit which dont go too expensive on mitsus if u can do it yourself, if not u can have a place do it for you but remember you get what you pay for
