1999 mercury grand Marquis brake lights won't work

Asked by AlixUmbarger Jun 01, 2018 at 03:33 AM about the 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis. My brake
lights won't work, but the lower 2 tail lights work.
The third brake light also won't come on. Fuses are
all good. I replaced the brake switch twice by two
different people. The gear shift won't shift from
park.

It's gotta be the switch, or a broken wire going to it. (they are too stiff and break) Improper adjustment of switch, but check those wires, cut off and crimp on new terminals, and a short bit of wire.(flexable wire)
