i have a 2002 mercury grand marquis. my engine light is on, but not flashing. The car runs ruff when the motor is under stress, but when i take the overdrive off it seems to run better. Is there a sensor that could be messing up?

Could be something such as an O2 sensor. Would have the obd codes read before buying anything and check all your fluid levels especially the oil in the meantime. Good Luck!
