How to fix overheated cylinder on a grand marquis

It's not locked up is it? if it is, I'd seek out a replacement motor, but if it still turns and there is no coolant in the oil we should be great. pull the velve covers off, pull the headbolts you've placed in a numbered piece of cardboard, like a soda case what shows which bolt came from where. this will stop the need for more rertorquing. Next, pluck the heads off and place them aside, note the condition, a slab of granite would be best so we could see if they need to be ground flat again, next get rid of the existing gaskets, noting where the coolant may have gone into the combustion chamber....with a rag and a little solvent clean the cylinder tops, install then new gaskets (probably no indian head gasket shellac needed here) torque according to the torque tables for these heads...will follow with this info when you are ready else just google it- good luck.
