Honda AC Compressors, low quality? perhaps

Asked by Farshad Aug 12, 2021 at 06:30 PM about the 2018 Honda Civic

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2018 Honda Civic with 66K miles on it. The Honda sent us a letter
extending the warranty on AC Condenser. However, on 08/12/2021, I took
the car to Honda dealership in Tracy, California. I was told that the AC
compressor is defect and needs replacement with $2200 cost. I was told that
the problem is usual and it is not covered by the extended warranty. Right
now, I am thinking if this is usual problem for Honda that the AC compressors
that are supposed to last 10 to 15 years, fail just after 3 years or if the
dealership in Tracy, California made a wrong diagnosis with so much cost

Any honda dealer part is going to cost more than after market crap . But I think it's worth it , your bad compressor may have been crap . The whole system has to be checked and properly filled if you open it up . And there may be other problems once they get going . AC done properly is expensive no matter how you look at it , honda AC just costs a little more . I think . Why you got screwed out of the warranty deal I can only speculate .

Hi everyone, I want to sincerely appreciate the team JERRYLINK CREDIT GROUP, for the dedication and time they put into working my credit. My credit was very bad, I have some late mortgage payment due to divorce, a medical bill that is charge off and one late credit card payment the sum of $45k and some inquiries which affected my credit report. I was trying to purchase a home for my family and also secure something for my kids in the future but I get turned down even after pre approval, it was very devastating. A friend read about them on CK and informed me, I contacted them after reading some testimonies about them, they ran my credit report, analyzed the credit score and determined which action will have the greatest impact. They raised my credit score to 802 and deleted all negative items on my credit report, within 9days. They made it work and I have a clean profile now. My heart is full of gratitude. If you want to reach them via: (+1 916 888 4118) or their email: jerrylinkgroup@gmail.com

The front seals are crap in all the newer Civics. The tech just swapped them out. They do not perform any "Extensive system checks" They can do this job in less than an hour. Make sure to replace the compressor with another overpriced HONDA junk compressor. Fortunately, there are good knock-offs for ~$200. I had a choice when buying this car, Toyota or Honda, I picked the wrong one.
