i am going 45mph and i want to slow down to 18mp in just seconds cause of traffic..is it bab for my car if switch from 4th gear to 3rd and then to 2nd to slow down? is it better i use the brakes?

Just use the brakes. Down shift when going down steep hills to control your speed. Is this a manual or automatic transmission?
