Might be the Intake Air Control valve (IAC). Common problem when cars can't maintain idle. The IAC allows an engine to breath when the throttle plate is closed (ie your foot is off the gas pedal)

Idle Air Control Valve or TPS Throttle Position Sensor. Easy maintenance item, located on side of throttle body. Had to replace many on my Subarus. Just need a Phillips screwdriver.
