Air compressor went out on 94 lincoln towncar

Recently replaced airbags on my lincoln noticed  compressor turning on even when car was off   compressor went
out now need to locate air compressor ? Also would b cheaper easier to  just get rid of  air bags and do struts / kit
and not deal w any of this air suspension problem ?
