after starting my car it, the compressor will go on and it continues to do that as i am driving or if i happen to hit a bump or go around a corner.i have also heard it go on while it is just sitting in my driveway.is this normal even if air bags are replaced and was it designed to operate in this manner when new.the car sits well at all times and does not seem to sag. i do not have a histoy on the previous owner but would a dryer change solve this problem.i also see the check ride control indicator come on once in a while but do not experience any problems and can reset it.

Dear 85vette-- Something is loose in that 1995 Lincoln Continental of yours, but I can't tell what from this distance. It may be the compressor, but it could be several other things too. I suggest you find someone who knows what they are doing to take a look at it. Good luck from Bovan.

2001 lincoln continental rear supspension sags sometimes. One time I will come outside and it is down, other times no.Mechanic checked it out by spraying soap on the bags, but did not see any leaks.Could it be the line or just replace the bags and be done? How can I fix the door over the gas cap that fails to open when I push the button on the door and when I pull the release in the trunk (unless I use a putty knife to open it at the same time)? 1 Answer

To open the door over the gas cap, I have to pull the release in the trunk and then insert a putty knife behind the door. Not really convenient!

I have a 1979 Lincoln Continental Williamsburg Edition. It has 2 switches on the floor, left corner. The lower one is the dimmer switch but I don't know what the upper one is for. Any ideas? Thanks. 4 Answers

The switch I'm inquiring about isn't in the manual. I can't figure out what it goes to. This car was owned by my grandfather, one owner, and it's not been modified. This is a factory switch.
