Headlights and taillights

My 2000 Lincoln Continental is totally dead
and when I turn the key I get nothing.  When I
try and jump it that’s when everything lights
up but I take the cables off everything goes
dead again.  I have to move my car so can
and how would O get headlights and taillights
to work

You just have a dead alternator. Replace it.
