MIleage Range Stopped Working

Asked by Dan Jun 19, 2022 at 11:19 AM about the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So the mileage range feature on my Nissan Rogue stopped working.  When I fill
it with gas, the mileage range does not change.  Is this an easy feature to fix?
The local Nissan dealer wanted $200+ for a diagnostic test.  I can live without it
but it is nice to have suggestions?

The stealership just was your money, find a good independent shop and have it checked, or save some money and just live without it.

With today's ridiculous cars, a lot of strange things happen when the battery is going bad. Without proper juice, you might see lights flashing and all sorts of things not working properly..... This kind of problem frequently results from a battery that's not putting out enough juice, or the terminals are corroded or loose. Check the battery, and if OK, remove the terminals and clean them, then properly tighten. When you reattach the cables, the computer will reset and I'd bet that will fix it.

What ever you do make sure you have the saver tool plugged into the OBD 2 port, if you don’t you could corrupt the computer system then your stuck with the dealership doing a reflash.
