Why is the vehicle price different thasn when the vehicle is purchased?

I wanted to know if a dealer changes the price due to a stipulation that was not posted in their listing, how can I get this resolved. The dealership actually charged me $1000 more than the list price on Car Gurus. The sales manager stated that the stipulation was on their but I was unable to find it.
