bmw idle

Asked by carolyn4132 Sep 18, 2018 at 09:21 AM about the 2015 BMW X5

Question type: General

Re: BMW x5 2015. When I come to a stop after about ten seconds my car idle
drops to zero. It feels as if the car has shut off. When I take my foot off the
brake or step on the gas it starts right back up. Car is currently in comfort
mode.
Is this  normal?

Yes, what you are describing is the automatic stop/start feature to reduce idling in stop and go traffic. There is a second small button on the left side of the starter button used to turn this feature off.
