My son's 2015 Dodge Dart SXT power steering keeps cutting off while driving.

Asked by JohnD7378 Nov 06, 2023 at 12:17 PM about the 2015 Dodge Dart

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When driving the power steering cuts on or off and it jerks the car. If it sets for
two days the battery goes dead. Would these two issues be connected? Can
the power steering be cut off? How?

That power steering unit isn't driven by an engine belt, it's an electric motor. One convenient sign of an alternator going out is electrical devices working erratically. Have the alternator and the whole charging system checked out.
