column changed - now no start

Changed the column because owner smashed the ignition cylinder with a screw driver and hammer, damaging all.  The old column didn't have a skim module - new one did.  The vehicle did NOTHING when the key was turned.  Figured it was security so we took to the dealer to have keys programed.  No idea what was done but when it came back, they said they needed the "new column's" vin and could then program the keys.  Not trusting this particular dealer, brought it to another dealer that said the module was burned into the computer so now it needs a new computer (there were now 2 vins in the current computer).  The customer went to the 1st dealer and was told it needs a new skim and the keys programmed.

Anyone know Jeep's security?

get vin off doner jeep take back to dealer ,do a reflash on comp.you should be ok,i doubt your computer is burnt.
