Grand cherokee

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We bought a Grand Cherokee that had the engine replaced. The previous
owner said that the heat needed to be turned on by a switch under the dash
and that it was easy to do. He was not present at the time we looked at the car.
He said it was easily found on youtube, yet I can't seem to find anything except
how to replace the actuator. Any suggestions. Please!!

Is the blower not working? Perhaps he put a toggle switch under the dash to turn it on. If that's not the problem, look under the hood for the heater control valve. It will have a heater hose going to it and another heater hose coming from it. Some of these are operated by a cable. If this is the case there will be a lever on the valve. Move it to the open position (opposite to where it is now. This will allow hot coolant to flow through the heater core and give you heat. Hope that helps! Jim
