how do i reset the anti theft on my 2013 gmc sierra 1500

I have seen on you tube for a pontaic grand am if anti theft will not allow the cae to start. you turn the key to on, then to start, then back to on wait 10mins, repete this three times and it will clear..not sure if it works on yout truck.
