ford ranger 4 cyl. 2.3 ltr. automatic

i have a 1996 ford ranger 2.3 ltr.  4 cylinder, i changed the head gasket [blown between 3th. and 4th. cylinders] engine idles  very good but loses speed going up hill [no pulling power], ijust checked the timing belt again every thing lines up  with the correct marks. i also checked the fuel pressure [engine off key on 45 psi. engine idling 35 psi.], compression  [ 175 psi min. ] i also checked the plugs [new and at correct gap ] i changed the coils and wiring. checked for vaccum leaks [none found ]  can anyone help or have any ideas what i can look for that might help fix this problem.

EGR system not operating properly, clogged air filter, or bad fuel possibly

thanks ROB,, i will check the egr system,what is the best way to do that. i know it is knot the fuel or air filter they have been changed. thanks agatn, any other ideas please respond

Pull the valve and check for carbon build-up. I would also check the tube from the valve to the manifold and the dpfe sensor.
