Whys my car overheating?

I have a 2002 bmw 325i and So I recently had
my coolant resivoir crack and replaced it but
now my car starts to overheat immediately
when I put it drive. Now I didn’t bleed the left
over coolant in the system could that be
causing it and if not what should I look at to
find out the problem.

Crack open the bleed screw and fill the coolant until it comes out of the screw. You want to let all the air bubbles escape from that bleed screw. Make sure the cap is on nice and tight and see if it still overheats. Not bleeding the cooling system can certainly cause it to overheat.
