I will like to know why my bmw 1999 318i shows this symbol D9987 fb1 jpg?

okay may be, the bmw is showing this sign (!) in a triangle right on top of the speedor meter, when that appears the car does not starts. what can be the problem?

That sounds like its the traction/stability control light, which means that either you turned it off or you have a bad wheel sensor
