What is an AGM type battery and is this the only kind for 2011 E350

Asked by GuruYZZ Mar 16, 2017 at 09:25 PM about the 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am informed that I can not use a regular battery in my 2011 E350 because I
need one that is a 48 AGM.  Is this correct and do I have to get it from a
dealer?

Yes an AGM type is the specified one, but they are available from several sources. I have an interstate in my E350 bought used. Works fine
