How do I clear the SERVICE TRAILER BRAKE SYSTEM alarm?

My battery was weak and truck would not start (had inside lights and dash lights).  i
charged battery and truck started has run fine since then. Every since the charge there
has been an message with a pic of trailer with line through it.

Isn't there supposed to be a "terminator" on the trailer pigtail, so crud does not get into the connection?

you could try the old standard pull the negative cable for fifteen seconds and replace, after first discharging any latent electrical devices~
