key stuck in ignition in 97 ford thunderbird

can't remove key from ignition.  The key won't go back and when take forward to start car
it does nothing.  It's like its in theft position.  What can I do to fix this?

personally would not use grease....that guy has no understanding...powdered graphite...like from a pencil...grease...dirt magnet...that guy means trouble...but the hole at the 6 'o clock position will release the thing....thank you for reminding us about that one....honestly take that one with a grain of graphite~

Mine was doing the same thing, I just took it out of park then put it back again, it started up just fine
