Is it a factory or aftermarket alarm and remote start?

Ahh ok. Do you have any check engine lights on in the dash? Have you checked the battery in the remote key fob to see if its dead? Do the lock and unlock work from the remote key fob? If the locks work from the remote key fob AND there are no check engine lights on, take it back to the body shop that fixed it and tell them to make it work. Something is not right.

If you have a check engine light on the remote start will not work until the light is cleared. Its a factory safety setting in all vehicles with factory remote starts.

You have to get the check engine light turned off. Autozone will do that for free.

Had the same problem with my 2005 RAM 3500 The cause was that the truck was in service mode, which prevents the remote to work as the truck gets serviced (happened after changing the batteries) Turn the ignition key on, wait till the dash lights are done check, press the remote start button quickly three times - the dash lights blink once or a sound. After doing this my remote worked again :)
