Lost reverse did not make a noise

When to put in Reverse did not hear nothing unusual but it would not shift into
reverse all other gears runs fine in forward

drain your fluid, I had a jeep that did that and when i dropped the pan , a clutch plate fell out, it had broken into 3 pieces, and because i did that and it did not destroy my transmission, i still drove it , it would go backwards on flat ground but no hills, i learned to park where i could drive thru, until i found a fair price and could afford to fix it..good luck
