My check engine light os flashing

I was told by a mechanic that my CE light was on beacuse of a sensor associated w/ my fuel tank. Now
it is flashing, and my car is chugging. Put some heat in it thinking I had bad gas. It smells like something
is burning . I can only smell this inside my car...any suggestions?

check to see if the passenger side floor is warmer than the drivers side , after of corse, running it for a while if you can , the reason i want you to check to see if passenger side is warmer, is that the exhaust converter is mostly under that side of the car, and if the engine light is on or flashing , not good things are going on inside your engine, you could be getting to much fuel and it will cause the converter to get very hot and could burn your car up , no kidding you should have a pro at a shop check it out for your own and your passengers saftey.

Agreed.... sounds like your running too rich and the cat. is working overtime burning the extra fuel. Possibly O2 sensor get fixed ASAP
