How do I make my brake light go off?

Asked by Kylie Mar 27, 2020 at 01:36 PM about the 2010 Dodge Avenger

Question type: General

My brake light won't go off. It is lit up and is like the emergency brake light. I
didn't know how to make this go off and quit dinging.

This usually means the brake light switch is out of adjustment. Try moving it. It's above the brake pedal

A brake light on can also mean low brake fluid level in the brake reservoir, If the level is not to the max line, add the correct fluid for your car and amount. Then inspect the brake lines and hoses for leaks. It could also be the sensor in the reservoir is faulty as well.
