SCR Code P205C

Asked by MangoYDTVP Feb 19, 2018 at 10:22 PM about the 2010 Mazda CX-7

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced a urea pump set 3.5 yrs ago and the SCR fault is showing up
again. My adblue tank was showing 2 out of 5 bars on the level indicator
then suddenly said I had 900kms left. I filled the tank to the top but it will not
recognise a full tank, after several drives and dealer code reset. Local dealer
quoted $2352.21 + $345 to fit! (The same dealer that charged $330 to top up
the adblue tank the first and only time I let them!) He also suggested buying
it online. Genuine part cost $1,600 fitted last time at a city dealer, so I'll be
shopping around. I'd like to disconnect the battery for half an hour so if it
resets the codes, before ordering another pump as they are so expensive. Is
this a waste of time, or could it be more problematic?

Thanks Mark. I'm looking into ECU remapping to see if the adblue system can be bypassed entirely. It may be more useful in the long run. We don't need cars to burn hotter in Australia.
