Check under hood fuses with a 12 volt test light or Digital Volt Meter. Is there 120 Amp ALT Fuse?

Small smoke on main battery connection on the hood and I quickly took it off, now as I tried to push start button it won't start any more and most of lights on dash board are off I tried to jump start it agin and the engine won't even start

The worst part is the windows are down and won't even go up and it's on the side of the road. i know it would be better to take it to a mechanic but as much as a could I would try first to do basics before I actually take I there.

The basics are to get your owners manual in glove box. Look in back pages....under 'fuses'. There should be a diagram for the 3-4 locations for the various fuse boxes. Once you know where the fuses boxes are....they have a set of plastic tweezers for you to pull each fuse and see which one has a severed link. There should be spares with the 5-10-15-20 amp number on top Just replace with same fuse number....once u locate the bad one. Where to start.....of course look for the battery fuse....that's where I would go first....then starter....then dash lights.... maybe you fried several......

The fuse and relay boxes have covers which ID each fuse. These ID'S are usually on the underside of each cover. Ultimately...a tow to a repair facility may be in order. Keep us up to date on any progress.

Check every fuse in the vehicle and hope you didn't destroy the alternator, ECU and audio system.
