Engine light comes on and car stalls at low speed near stopping.

Asked by Roy2989 Oct 14, 2015 at 10:25 PM about the 1995 Honda Accord

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 95 Honda accord LX. I've had my transmission replaced as well as valve gasket covers. My car is doing the same exact thing it did when I originally took it in. I need an answer from someone with experience cause I'm already in $1500. My engine light comes on after driving for 10 to 15 min and when I come to a stop it will shut off. I turn the off completely and it starts back up fine. The check engine light goes off and the car runs again. Please let me know if any of you have an idea what this could be.

If car is running good while driving,as you said and only does this when you come to a stop, may need to have the throttle body and IAC cleaned,

IAC is idle air control module, all so check for vacume leaks around intake and hoses.

If you are going to continue guessing what is wrong, you will continue to spend money needlessly- and "mechanics" shouldn't be guessing, either- they took your money and didn't fix your car- that is a basic portrait of incompetence- and on a '95 Honda!! I don't see how that car is even worth $1500- yikes!
