It is very hard to get the car to move from a
stop light. There are no lights showing up
on the dashboard indicating that there is
anything wrong with the car? Please help I
have a feeling it may be the motor, but not
sure!!

It's the transmission. The motor is revving like that because the car is still in neutral and the transmission is not working properly.

I was told that I can't check the transmission fluid in a stuck that it has to be done professionally, is that true!?
