Are you talking about the light next to the gear selector, on the floor, between the front seats?

Mine went off while driving. I pulled over and start the engine again and when when I shifted gear to 'drive' the light won't show at the dash board.

Is it a digital light or a back lit light? If its back lit most likely its just a bulb that should be able to be replaced fairly easy.

Burnt out bulb if it doesn't light at all, or bad connection if it comes on then goes off when you select the gear. Remove the bezel screws around the panel, pull the panel out towards you carefully, remove the bulb and replace it.
