Hi V18! ... Is there any tension on the hood release lever when you pull it? If not you probably have a failed cable. If there is tension and return on the cable (the lever returns to the proper position when you release it) you probably have a failed latch. Unfortunately there are no easy solutions or "back doors" for either problems. If you can get to a second of the cable after the break you may have a shot with a pair of vice-grips. Otherwise you may have to manipulate the latch from under the car of you can reach it. In the end you may that you may need professional help. It might make sense to find a local guy to dump the whole job on and save your sanity. Good luck!
