How to loosen the tensioner on the Serpentine belt

I’m needing to know how to loosen the tensioner on
the Serpentine belt because I’m trying to change my
alternator

Usually there is a square hole on the device. Insert a 3/8 inch drive socket wrench into the hole and pry it back to remove the belt.
