Alternator vs battery

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Had my car checked at 2 different places.
Advance Auto said battery and alternator were
fine. OReillys said alternator was bad. I was
told to remove the positive connection of the
battery if car died it is the alternator of not it’s
the battery. Car did not die. Think it’s the
battery or alternator? Everything else seems
to be working just fine.

What was going on before you had anything checked? Are you saying the starter motor wouldn't crank the engine? The battery is mostly for starting the engine. The generator provides electrical with engine running and tops off the battery. just my opinion.
