Is it Automatic Transaxle? IF yes, check a level and color of transmission fluid. When last time did you change a transmission fluid?

I have a 2000 EX 3.0 V6 with automatic tranny and now with 243678K miles that runs and shifts like a scalded dog and runs better and has outlasted many of the newer late model brands of cars to my shock and amazment it's fast too and doesn't burn any oil or smokes my suggestion to you is drain the tranny go to Walmart and grab youself a jug of Valvoline synthetic transmission fluid and a bottle of Lucas no slip transmission fix that should do the trick for ya ! take care and good luck !!!
