Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Has anyone had this problem? I bought
this from a private party. Only a couple
weeks after I purchased it the alarm
started going off randomly. I wasnt even
aware it had an alarm! I don't understand
what the problem is. Very frustrating I'm a
single mom with 3 kids. One multiple
special needs. This is a huge headache
and interferes with my sleep. I'm afraid I'm
going to get evicted or my van towed. Can
anyone think of why it's happening ? Any
little sensitive tricks for locking my van
without the alarm sounding? Pretty sure it
happened even unlocked. I don't know how
to take  battery in and out every time I
need to leave my vehicle unattended. Yes
my battery is full and good. Any input
appreciated. Thanks in advance!

My 2005 Odyssey just started having intermittent alarm problems about 8 months ago. It has been in the shop (a Honda Dealership) 4 times. First time they disconnected the hood latch alarm/sensor. Second time they replaced the diver's side door sensor. Third time it was the ignition switch. 4th time they just gave up. I should have consulted Dr Google 8 months ago. Find a youtube video on disconnecting the hood latch sensor. However, after you disconnect it, put in a small jumper wire across the connector on the portion that leads back to the car alarm. Then, test your alarm by trying to make the horn sound by double-pressing the key fob, or by pressing the panic button. If you jumpered it correctly, you won't hear the horn, Unless of course you actually press on the horn. After making sure the jumper works, wrap it up (duct tape?) so that the jumper doesn't fall out.

THANK YOU!! Much appreciated! BUT... can you CLARIFY (help me to visualize ) "..put in a small jumper wire across the connector on the portion that leads back to the car alarm." Please respond ASAP!
