Need HELP with fixing my gmc

my 2002 gmc envoy wont release my key...I went
to start it and there was nothing no lights or
anything. Now it won't even release my key or allow
me to return the key to start position. Someone pls
help have already had 3 jumps already

Here's how to release the key.....look up under the steering column, you'll see either a hole there to push in and release OR an indentation where a hole is supposed to be, just pop it out or carefully drill out. Sounds like your ignition switch may be shot.
